(11 reviews)I got my Cruiser in 2004 as a high school graduation present. Before that I had other cars from popular brands amongst teenagers but they never really did anything from me. Those cars tended to be less stylish and on two of them I had terrible experiences with because of their reliability issues (which was funny because I had gotten those cars because of their reliability records). The cruiser has far exceeded all my expectations, I absolutely love it and dont care what people think.
Wolf in sheep's clothing. Sleeper car, and very practical. Good looking, and unique, very customizable. Handling leaves a bit to be desired, but improvements are relatively affordable. Comfortable on long trips, and just a cool car. Poor resale value, but that's fine if you're buying it used!
I purchased this PT Cruiser GT new back in 2004 and it has been an outstanding vehicle for these last ten years. The PT Cruier GT was initially purchased primarily to be a family car, yet with good looks, power, and lots of bells and whistles. Since then, the GT has changed job descriptions for us and never came up short. A grand tourer for family vacations, grocery getter, bringing home the 55" flat screen TV, hauling lawn and garden materials from the DIY store, etc. I eventually became the primary driver of this Cruiser, using it for my daily commutes back and forth to work. The turbocharged engine easily gets the car up to speed from offramps and merging lanes and the ride is very smooth with just the right amount of firmness. Bad weather has been no problem, either. In addition to ABS brakes, the PT Cruiser has a low speed traction control feature that has helped with snowy roads from this past winter. The car is superbly well planted and the front wheel drive pulls the car through the snow and ice without any drama. This PT Cruiser has been a wonderfully dependable vehicle and should be considered as one of Chrysler's greatest offerings of all times. For the money, you will be hard pressed to find a better car.
well with all the mods I have done to my PT and the zero problems i have had w/ her i can not complain except for what i paid for the stupid thing! 0 to 60 in about 6 sec and the 1/4 mile @ 14.5 @ 107 Mods - intake, exhaust, h&r lowering springs, sway bars to name a few. the Stage one Turbo upgrade is the best. gas mileage - 18 to 20 city and 24 to 26 hwy. not bad for a 260 Hp turbo.
Decent on gas use. Pretty dependable car if maintenance is kept up with. Real hard to work on anything under the hood as access issues are really bad. There is just no room under the hood to do anything, repetitive sensor light issues.
