I bought this car when it was 2-years-old, and had 38,725 miles. It's now at 272,500, and just keeps going. I've made it a point to keep this car maintained as recommended, and use synthetics when possible (Motorcraft Synthetic Blend motor oil). You can't go wrong buying a used, well maintained Grand Marquis or Crown Vic. (Obviously the Grand Marquis is the car to the left in the photo.) March 3, 2014 - now over 327K miles and is on the road every day. As I wrote before, it just keeps going. February 27, 2015 - now over 354K, with new timing chains and 8 new coils. I didn't get my plugs changed at 300K and it apparently put too much stress on the coils. Won't make that mistake again. Also, I've been convinced that I should have used Mobil 1 from the outset, so I've changed over here in the car's middle age.

The maintenance costs are low since there are so many of these cars on the road still. For a big car it has a lot of pep and a very big back seat and trunk, extremely room yet not overbearing for it's size.

I find the performance is at the high end of rpm spectrum, it has needed repairs, but it has 165000 miles so that's expected. I love the way it looks, both inside and out. It's a bit of a gas hog, but you should know that with the 4.6 L V8. It is very fun, if you don't mind tight squeezes and people thinking you're 80 years old. Update- I'm up to 217,000 miles and it still runs like a brand new V8! So far I've replaced the air idle controller, mass air flow sensor, and the plastic (WHY FORD WHY PLASTIC!?) intake manifold. For a car that's got so many miles I don't think that's too bad at all.
