Used 2003 Ford Explorer for Sale near Aurora, IL

Loved the vehicle, but had too many problems with the rear end new design...aluminum. Replaced two rear ends in warranty and two out of warranty...covered by Ford, 'cause they know that they have a problem. After having the last one replaced at 52K, and the rep told me that this was the last one. At 57K I traded 'cause the whining was starting again in the rear end. High whining problems were why they changed the whole rear end each time....first it started at 6K miles, with a 55 - 62 whine. Then it was a whine at a higher speed...then a growling and they replaced the bearings etc...but the whine was still there....they replaced the rear end with a new one again. Good luck....my car was like new when I traded on a new Pontiac Torrent.....my wife loves this car, easier to handle than the bulky Explorer.
