The 2003 Chrysler 300M received an upgraded sound system, including the replacement of the 4-disc in-dash CD changer with a 6-disc version. Sirius Satellite Radio was also added to the options roster. The 300M was now available in two trims, providing buyers with a choice between luxury and performance-focused 300Ms. The 300M's engine was a 3.5 liter V-6, which produced 250 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. The 3567 pound sedan reached 60 mph off the line in 7.8 seconds, and turned the quarter mile in just over 16. The engine was mated to a 4-speed automatic as the only transmission option, and both 300Ms were only available with front wheel drive. This 300M was directed towards comfort, with a softer suspension and less aggressive tires. The 300M was praised for its abundance of interior and cargo room, and even taller passengers were able to stretch out in the back. The space was created by the LH platform's cab-forward design, which allowed for a cabin that spanned the entire wheelbase. Chrysler continued to experience build quality issues with the 300M, mostly dealing with small aesthetic and convenience items: interior trim adhesives, power windows, windows coming off track, and electronic malfunctions.
