About 2003 Audi S8
This car has a split personality...but in a good way. Like Dr. Jekyll, the 2003 Audi S8 presents itself as respectable, subdued, sophisticated, and high class. But thanks to a concoction of a DOHC 40-valve, 4.2-liter 360-hp V8, quattro all-wheel drive, and a sports-tuned all-aluminum suspension designed for lighter, smoother handling, the S8 can turn into Mr. Hyde with no warning -- growling, menacing, wild, unleashed. This sports-performing full-size sedan features all the interior luxuries and gadgets to make driving effortless and comfortable. Leather seats with sports bolstering, dual climate control, sunroof, power front seats, trip computer, keyless entry, heated front seats, and memory settings are just a smattering of standard options. New in 2003 are new 18-inch tires, interior wood trim, and Audi badging on the headrests. With various option packages, you can add heated rear seats, an updated navigation system, and a tire pressure monitor. The 2003 S8 seats four to five and offers a roomy trunk. Despite the large size, luxury trimmings, and quattro technology, the 2003 S8 doesn't feel heavy behind the wheel. It corners precisely, maneuvers tightly, sticks to the road, and has responsive pickup. And it's fast, which you'd never know from its understated appearance. ABS, electronic stability, limited slip differential, and plenty of airbags add extra security. The biggest complaints about the 2003 Audi S8 are unhelpful dealers and lack of rear legroom. Owners wish they had offered the S8 on the longer A8L platform. Its unpretentious style is seen as both bad (no one notices you!) and good (no one, including thieves, notices you). Highlights are the speed and acceleration power, the quattro performance, expert handling and sporty ride that feels smooth despite the firmer suspension, and the large trunk.
