It's not meant to be fast. But it's faster than it's 90 horsepower might hint, and it gets roughly 52 mpg on my daily commute. It handles reasonably well, and with a few changes that don't affect ride quality, it's fairly neutral. It's a VW, so it's got a few squeeks and rattles, but it's very solid for a car with 95,000 miles on it. It's cheap to run, and maintenance is minimal.
