I love the 50 plus milage but there has been a lot of things break in three years. We have 170 000 kms on it and I am determined to double that amount. I love the drive of this car and for two of us it is perfect. For all four it is way too small.

i took the 5spd manual version of the car for a spin and just loved it! the shifting was very smooth especially wen accerlerating hard. the turbo was also very responsive and gave the car great get up and go. there was lots of room for the driver and the passengers and had sum pretty cool features like being able to roll the windows up or down with the turn of the key in the door lock. the steering was telescopic so it made it very comfortable for me the driver to keep a good pasture while driving. these r my favorite model of the jetta to b produced. id liek to see the jettas with a VR6 tho...

i've always liked the German Diesel. I've had a 86 TDI and now a 2002. The 86 was a high maintenance car, my quote was "My car and I have an unwritten agreement...I dedicate my weekends to repairing it and it gets me to and from work during the week. I've owned my 2002 for a few years now and it's been maintenance free (except for normal oil changes).
