The biggest change for the 2002 MR2 Spyder was availability of a new high-tech transmission. The sequential manual transmission (SMT) had no clutch and instead was operated by a level on the floor. A conventional five-speed manual was also available.

While not blisteringly so, fast enough to be a barrel- load of fun. Incredibly low cost of ownership considering the style of car, particularly for tyres. It does have next to no luggage space, but there's something wrong with you if you are buying this as a load lugger.
The body is something that most people may not like, but I enjoy it alot. The power is pretty low, but its got nice acceleration. Through corners the lightness and lowness of the car allows it to carve corners at a much higher speed than most other cars.
Very good looking car :) Fast, amazing gas mileage and very sturdy. Best handling car I've ever owned prior to my Evo. No matter how hard I drove this car I never got less than 40 mpg. Very dependable car. I actually want to get another one as a daily driver when we move back to the states :)
This car is so much fun to drive. It is the best car that I have had yet! It is a V8 and a 5 speed manual which makes it even more fun to drive.
