Ignition e fuse continued blowing every time I turned the key on. Truck would start however the ac seemed to be on same circuit. If course after so the hot weather was done I found where the issue was. The wire harness that runs behind brake master cylinder has about a dozen wires running appeared to have insulation stripped of most of the wires leaving them exposed and eventually touching this blowing fuse. Possibly from brake fluid spilled onto wires is my guess but insulation was only melted but wires were not discolored so no sign of electrical short causing insulation to melt. Repaired wires and everything is perfect. How this may help someone having the problem I did and hopefully someone needing solution to same problem will find this and have a better chance of solving.

I bought this as my third S 10. It was found in another state. I fell in love from the minute I saw it and bought it. It has been a great truck a work horse when needed and a family vehicle as well. I have used it for long and short trips. Presently it has 150000+ miles.

Probably the BEST mid size pickup EVER built next to the Toyota Hilux. It has the largest V6 engine in it's class (4.3l). This thing is a beast off road. My only complaint is that Chevy doesn't make the S-10 with the ZR2 package anymore (since 2003). ZR2 Specs (unique to the ZR2 package): -Ladder Type Frame with Modified Mounting Points -100mm wider track (3.9 inches wider than regular S-10) -Increased Ground Clearance (Approx 3" over Regular S-Series 4x4) -Enhanced front (7.25" ring gear) and rear (8.5" ring gear) axles w/ 3.73:1 rear-axle ratio -Larger wheel and axle bearings -31 x 10.50" BFG A/T Tires -Fender Flares -46mm gas pressurized Bilstein Monotube shocks -Rear Track Bar -Skid Plates -Front/Rear Disc brakes (on newer models) -Full Size Spare Tire

I purchase new 2000 2wd 4cyl and drive for 110k, good truck never any real issues, earned its keep and drove it all over the US. Upset that they don't make the S-10 any more the Colorado is no S-10, recently upgraded to 4wd 6cyl. more power, better performance, by purchasing 2002 S10 for a good deal. Hope to get 3 years out of it.
