This car is perfect for someone living in a mountain town! This car is awesome in the snow, you will never have to worry about getting stuck or not getting to work. I have packed 5 people, 2 dogs and all of our ski gear numerous times a year for ski trips and its a perfect but tight fit. The elevated rear seats are also a nice touch!

Keep up with the maintenance and it will keep up with you. My vehicle had 192,000 miles when it was sold. Changed the oil every 5k miles and did the major tune up with timing belt at 125k. That is the only thing ever done to this vehicle under the hood.

I love the low torque of the Xterra, it is excellent offroad from the factory, but if you are thinking of more the 3 inch lift is definitely a worth while option. A little bit under powered and runs at high RPM`s on freeway but no issues other than typical wear and tear at 120000 miles.
