Pretty nippy for a 1.2L. Not much torque low down but it picks up its feet above 3,500rpm. The powerband is between 4,000 and 5,500 rpm. Go above that and all your really doing is minimising he Rev drop when you change up a gear. It hits the limiter at 6,800 Rpm. The Zetec-SE engine is an excellent engine and it was co-designed with Yamaha. It's lightweight, all aluminium block and head, double overhead camshaft, sixteen valve design. Chassis is stiff and it would handle well with stiffer suspension. Still lots of understeer as expected with modern day FWD cars. Ive got 195/50/15 Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres which are very grippy all round. They are good to rely on and you get nothing but positive feedback from them all the way to the limit. This is the Non ABS version, ABS version would be more preferable. I would desire more from the brakes. The car feels skitty and loose under breaking. The brakes are Good by most standards, but I would prefere them to be better.

Compared to my old Ka - brilliant. cheap-ish to insure, reasonably rapid, air con, electric windows, central locking, quiet on the motorway, can acrry more stuff than you might think with the seats folded. Its a fantastic all-round student car. A couple of friends have similar cars and love them!

possibly the best handling 1.6 hatchback in the world. always felt planted and solid while giving it some.
