Used 2000 Ford Explorer XLT AWD for Sale near Atlanta, GA
3.4 Overall rating
(5 reviews)173,000 miles and still ticking. Only car running in Chicago Blizzard (22 inches snow) in 2011. Great space for cargo. Only missing 3rd row seats. Loved the pwr lock in back, not on 2010 version. Needed new interior for customers thus the 2010 purchase..
it is a v8 all wheel drive. th only down fall is that the cab is small, and the undercarriage is rusty. has a sticky accelerator so you have to add more pressure to it every so often. it is really fun to drive it is just the smooth leather seats are a problem when we hit a pot hole or go over a curb
Ok, if you can't say something nice...don't say anything at all. Here's something nice: It was great in the snow; I felt very safe in the bad weather. HOWEVER... It was a total piece of junk. I bought it with 39,000 miles on the odo, had it for no more than 1 week...and the transmission blew up. I replaced the Oxygen sensor and an exhaust gas sensor to try to cure a stalling problem (it eventually went away on its own). The power steering pump was moaning very loudly at 55,000 miles. When I got rid of it with 61,000 miles...the transmission was slipping again. Enough is enough! Build quality in the interior was terrible...lots of cheap trim pieces. The cloth seats were very comfortable, though. It had the base 4.0 V6 with 160 horsepower. Acceleration was TERRIBLE. Merging onto the highway involved a planted right foot and lots of prayers. Gas mileage was pretty bad (14-15mpg average no matter what, even on the highway). I may have just been unlucky and wound up with a lemon...but, I'd have to think long and hard about whether I'd buy another Ford ever again.
crashed and burned...got 2 dwi w/ this car
Been well pleased with performance.
