This started out as little more than basic transportation. With some after market additions, it actually turned out to be a fun car. It was also a pretty good looking cheap car. In stock form, the intake design kills power by straving the twin cam engine of air! The skinny little stock wheels and tires ruin any handling the car may have. With a new air intake system, and bigger wheels and tires, this car was surprising. It handled very well, and with a engine that could breathe, it had a lot more useable power! The 5-speed transmission was nothing special, but it was essential to wringing out the maximum performance of the engine. This car with the Automatic transmission was worthless! Note: these modifications are exactly the same mods Ford made to the SR version of this car! Where this car was lacking was in useable interior space. Headroom was limited, and rear seat room was a joke!

Pretty good performance for a car in it's class. Handles well given the skinny tires. Build quality is pretty solid, the oly major repair I've had to do was a transmission overhaul, part of which might just be the way I drive the car. Get's good gas mileage(~30) when I don't have my foot to the floor(which is most of the time). Compared to a lot of cars my friends own, this is definitely more fun to drive.

Appearance- Ugly Performance- Handles well, Brakes well, Overall not bad Cost of ownership- Gas amazing, maintenance not TOO much Build Quality- Needed some general repairs Fun Factor- Decent Great car, could use some more power, pretty decent gas mileage, Overall great car.

Another of the Escort family it was a burgandy Ghia model 1.8 all leather interior lots of toys and fake walnut so it looked the part and made you feel richer than you were. I liked it, nippy, smart, good in the corners and aircon to boot.
