Used 1999 Hyundai Elantra for Sale near Baltimore, MD
4.5 Overall rating
(2 reviews)I drove this car to California from Ohio and it made it on only 250 bucks worth of gas, and this was just in 2010 with it being 11 years old! The only reason I am buying a new car is because I haven't dealt with a Michigan winter in over 15 years and I live in BFE so I don't want to get caught in the snow and I have always wanted a Jeep and found one I could not pass up :) I will keep this beauty as a great commuter car back up. The electrical system is a champ, you reset it and go on your way. Though lately my airbag light has been on (well, for like 6 years) and the driver window has been off track for about as long, but that's easily fixed as well. I never has a problem with the motor or regulator just the tab on the window cam off and I never fixed it. Only thing that was recurrent twas that the battery terminals tend to have acid corrosion on them lots. Over the life of the car I have had to have it jumped at least 6 times when the only reason it wasn't working was because the corrosion was so bad that the terminals weren't connecting. But drive by AutoZone, have them clean them off and make sure to test the battery and it doesn't cost you anything! Every time it was the terminals though, don't know if anyone else had that problem. Repairs were a bit expensive... I usually would drop at least 200 bucks for each trip to the dealership, but I had the 10 year warranty so a decent enough amount of it was covered. It works better if you don't drive as much as I do, cause it's 10 year OR 100k mile. Everyone who has driven Betsey says how smooth the ride is, and they are right it rides like a luxury car and has TONS of room inside. I would say it is a good family car if you have a smallish carseat but I don't have kids so I don't know. Moved myself in this car at least a dozen times and it wasn't bad at all. Once you have a car for so long you know how to work with the space lol
this car was nice for the money
