The 1999 Honda Passport is getting better reviews since its redesign the year before. The increased room, better seat comfort, and importantly, the increased power seem to have made a difference. Like the Passport of the year before, the '99 Passport has a 3.2L V6 engine with 205 hp. But it gets 20 mpg (highway) at best, and most drivers find it delivers between 15 to 17 in regular driving. That's a bit tough with today's gas prices. Many love the Passport's ability in the snow and the weight it can easily tow. But, even with the increased power and comfort, some still have issues with the Passport's reliability and the fact that even though it carries the Honda brand, it's really made by Isuzu, which can make parts harder to get. Little things like rattles annoy many, as does the poor gas mileage. Even then, however, there's a hefty population that does enjoy driving the Honda Passport.
