Overview

Still designed and built by Isuzu, and no changes from the previous year, the 2001 Honda Passport is a light, small, minivan, with some crash test problems.
It comes in in six colors: silver, white, black, blue, red, and green and comes in either regular 2WD drive or 4WD.
It's 4WD system allows for shifting on the fly and the simple push of a button can bring you into 4WD high even while driving. Moving into low drive though requires stopping and manipulating a lever on the floor. There's even a winter mode which helps the tires really grab the ice, which is a welcome enhancement for those of us living in the snow and ice that lasts far too many months.
The 3.2-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 makes it a reasonable drive. One complaint, though, which was voiced by many, involves the placement of the windshield wiper control which is different than many other vehicles.
The EX model comes with a cool moon roof, fog lights, and remote key-less entry -- all optional features for the LX model.
On the LX Passport model, the spare tire is mounted on the tailgate. On EX and EX-L, it's in the cargo area, which is problematic when driving up a steep grade since it will drag on the road.

This is an absolutely great weekend running around vehicle. I use it mostly for beach outings, trips to the dog park and traveling. Lots of room - fun to drive - decent gas mileage - easy maintenance. Love it - Love it - Love it!
