Reviewed a 1998 Audi 2.8 quattro AWD on Jul 5, 2013

This car really is ALMOST the best sort of car for me, and for a lot of people in my opinion. Its small, but it can fit 4 people (5 in a pinch), but the people in the back should be under 5' 8", otherwise its a squeeze. Its easy to park because of it's small size, good turn lock, and visibility. The 2.8 quattro 5-speed variation is fun to drive and plenty fast (it has a sweet exhaust note above 4,500 RPM), albeit it is extremely hard to find this specific trim of A4. The car is everything you would want in a personal transportation vehicle, wrapped up in the Audi name, but has slightly more affordable maintenance costs than its rivals (BMW, Mercedes) because of the fact that it shares a lot of components with the Volkswagen Passat and Volkswagens in general--but don't misunderstand--it is not CHEAP at all, but it isn't outrageously expensive either if you buy aftermarket and/or do the work yourself. All in all, I recommend this car to people who are looking for a nice car for under $6,000, who can bare with the around $1,000 a year average money spent on maintenance, less if you work on it yourself. (Synthetic Oil Changes are around $80). Other choices are C-Class, E-Class, 3 Series, and 5 Series. Happy car hunting!
