This truck has been great. I have had it nearly 20 years now and only use it in the summer. It is becoming a bit of a collectors item as the rest on this generation of trucks is wearing out.

considering it had a 4.3 v6 it was amazing it towed showed and got it done in style not the most winter friendly but one of my favorite vehicles to date should never have sold it and would highly reccomend buying any configuration of 88-98 chev half ton by far one of thebest engineered reliable trucks u can runn minor electric problems is my only gripe

my 97 gmc has a crate 5.7 with the vortec fuel injection, headers, cold air intake , and dual exhaust with 1 chamber flowmasters dumped at the axle. and this winter it is getting a stroked 408 6.0 vortec and a 4L80e trans and a rear mounted singel trubo with a 14inches rear end with 4.10 with a locker... the added cowl hood with the SS stripes on the hood only the roll pan that is molded into the bedsides and the bed cover when it was on there and my blacked-out headlight, turn signals, side markers, tail lights and high mounted brake light. and my billet insert. door and fender needs to be line up and the bed cover needs to be fixed because of some idiot tow truck driver. with the bed cover on it and my foot not in it. it gets about 24 mpg but with out the bed cover and my foot in it. it gets about 16 mpg. its is a blast to drive it handles cornors reall good for a truck with the help of the weld pro stars that are 10inches wide... and everybody likes to look at it..

Like Waylon Jennings said "lets make a Ford and a Chevy last 10 years like they should." I drive a 97 and its purrs like a kitten.I would'nt trade it for the world. But I would still love to have a carburetored truck with no emmissions
