The 1996 Toyota Rav4 introduced a relatively new concept: all of the height, none of the bulk, way more style than similar vehicles.

The 1996 Rav4 was fairly cutting edge for its time. It had the luxuries of a car such as cup holders and easy in-and-out (although it still sits higher than the Explorer), with the more rugged feel of an SUV and the price of a small- to mid-size sedan.

The four-wheel drive system is run on a 120-horsepower, 4I engine. It takes a full 10 seconds to get up to 60, yet has the accompanying fuel efficiency (about 21/25 city/highway).
