Comfortable bucket seats, fairly good handling - but needed better accelleration. Starting rusting out after 7 years.

This car is 15 years old and the design was so ahead of its time it doesn't look it. In fact I have heard people say that the best years for Sunfires looks were from 1995-1999 and 2003-2005. This car is the only year for the 2.3 liter four cylinder which makes it hard to get parts, but it is a very peppy engine and lots of power for a four cylinder. Breaks aren't bad but could be better, they could have gone with a four disk set up instead of rear drums but that was obviously a way to cut cost. There is a bit of a rattle coming from the rear of the car and I have driven a 1997 coupe and it was doing the same thing so that must be a Sunfire thing. I love the interior of my GT, it has tweed like material and the compartment feels and looks sporty. The roof line is also well exitcuted, even though the Sunfire is the sister car to the Cavalier it is a much more attractive sporty commuter in my oppinion. Gas milage could be a bit better in my oppinion it isn't horrible but could be much better. I love how this car drives and handles and the steering needs to be fixed and it still handles very well. You also feel the road and it will tell you what it's limits are before you get into trouble though as far as a high performance car it should have been a rear wheel drive car and a better drive train and engine but it is my point a to point be comuter in a non eco box car, and I love this car.
