Damn! A bargain! My Saab had broke down and I needed a car. I saw this Alfa 145 at a local auction. I'm glad I did as well. £300 got me a tax & tested 145 1.7 16v boxer. 68,000 miles on the clock, she drives like nothing I've ever owned. Steering is like go cart sharp, suspension is firm, and the sound from the boxer 4 cylinder is glorious. I'm avraging about 35-40 mpg, which is a damn sight better than the Saab I had before, but I am in a smaller car! The only down side I have with this car, is the engine speed. At 70mph, the engine is nearly doing 3500 rpm. I'm used to 70 at about 2500-2700 rpm. It might not sound like a lot, but put a little more speed down, and the revs get high. 4000 rpm at 75mph. The gearing is a tad short, but acceleration is a blast..

Alfa's made be known as un reliable, but i'd have this car back at the drop of a hat. A bit of a guzzler on fuel but makes up for that on it's performance. Drove very well with the boxer 1.6 engine, just a treat to have. According to 'Top Gear' "Your not a petrol head until youv'e owned an Alfa"

Drove without any problems for 6 months and was incredibly frugal on long distance trips. Great when I was a student.

well ,.uses a lot of gas, good to drive if it starts , strong engine but is not really fiable and the materials and finishings are terible...the suspensie suchs and makes a lot of noise. avoid if you can brrrr
