The Chrysler Concorde continued with two available variations for its second model year. This lower tier LX model saw most of the significant changes in 1994. The engine power was boosted and more standard features were added. The Concorde was also offered with a flexible-fuel system that enabled the sedan to use alternative fuels. The power steering was also adjusted to provide more power assistance for low speeds, and better responsiveness on the highway. The 3.3 liter V-6 engine was upgraded from 153 to 161 horsepower. Torque was also bumped up from 177 to 181 pound-feet. A larger V-6 was still available on the LXi version. The Concorde's 0-60 mph time was trimmed to 8.5 seconds, and the sedan now turned the quarter mile in just under sixteen. Despite its large stature, the Concorde achieved fairly efficient fuel consumption of 20/28 mpg. The sedan was only available with front wheel drive. Chrysler positioned the Concorde to compete with luxury imports from Lexus, Infinity, and Acura. The car's interior space was widely praised as perhaps its best luxury feature, as the use of cab-forward design allowed Chrysler to stretch the cabin through the entire wheelbase. Some owners expressed discouragement with frequent service stops, most often due to A/C and transmission problems. Many have also added that cold weather takes a toll on electrical components and the transmission.
