Well worth the money I paid for it. Has over 276,000 miles on it, very few problems. Most occurred after 198,000 miles. Gas mileage could be better. Love the 8' bed. Eventually will get a lift kit and turned into a mudder!!!

a ton of lower end torque, pretty good mid range hp, about 9 to 1 compression ratio, very reliable 4WD, and great ground clearence. with my michelin LTX tires (not in photo) it sits about 26" off the ground. 5 litre engine that with my simple mods puts out about 330 lbs ft of torque at about 2,000 RPM. has a smoothe 5 speed manual trans with a fairly light clutch. ENGINE IS INDESTRUCTABLE!

This truck has loads of power as it is. The 5.0 really kicks in at high rpms. Gas mileage is pretty low due to no overdrive since the tranny is slipping. But loads of fun overall. Easy to get power out of the truck and no problem blasting past other drivers.

This is the first truck I've bought that was newer than (at most) 20 years old. So far, it's taken absolutley everything I've thrown at, including but not limited to, personel carrier at a 50+ acre grass/wildland fire, hauling/pulling loads in excess of 6 tons (for a half-ton!), and treating it like a hot-rod on the streets. I've only owned 1 tougher truck than this (it was a 1978 version of this one, actually) and it only got 5 Miles Per Gallon. Considering fuel prices now-a-days, my measley 12 Miles Per Gallon is not bad for what I put this truck through. If I could fix one thing on this thing, it would definitly be the transmission, which (when I bought it) I was unaware of its deteriated condition and it has only gotten worse from there.
