Used 1992 Cadillac Allante FWD for Sale Nationwide
4.4 Overall rating
(5 reviews)All in all I've got alot of fun and pleasure since I bought this car on EBAY in 2005. Driving it home from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia and trips to Mytle Beach and Martha's Vineyard highlight many road trips. The only downside is expensive repairs.
These vehicle were expensive cars to buy new. The 93 was the most expensive because of the Northstar engine and last year of production. From what I have been told by my mechanics is the Northstar is very expensive to maintain and repair. This is why I chose the 92, which I am pleased with.
Great ride, MPG is much better than expected. This is a true classic, the best of Cadillac and Italian style. With the age there will always be things to tinke with but parts can be found, not new but rebult ones. Allante Source in West Palm Beach is a great place.
For a two seat roadster - this car is very well laid out. It is nearly identical in size to a Mercedes SL, however, the Allante has considerable more seating space and trunk space. The 4.5 l V-8 is not designed to win races - but it will quickly scoot down the road with 22 MPG hwy rating. The Speed Dampening suspension system provides a smooth and level ride under nearly all conditions. The most amusing part - is watching people look at you while they try to figure out what kind of car it is. There was only 21,000 Allantes ever built and only about half are thought to still be on the road. Even though these are 20+ years old - it is amazing at all the technology that they came with. If you want something that very few people have - take an Allante for a drive.
Expensive to maintain. Parts hard to find. Interior hardware (sunvisors, seat back handles, etc.) not up to the quaility one would expect for this level of vehicle. The car has so many standard features that owning/operating one is a coninual learning experience!
