There's nothing like the sound of a 5.0 HO roaring to life when you turn the key. Add to that the ability to quickly drop the top, and presto, you have a true sports roadster.

Car had good acceleration for a 302 HO 5 speed. Braking was great and handling was good. The rust monster had gotten ahold of it though and the unibody was rotting apart so I had to get rid of it. The convertible was great when it was down, but with just over 100 thousand miles on it the automatic top motor was shot and made it difficult to get the top up and down. I love the styling of the mid 80s to early 90s Mustangs though convertible or not. Gas mileage was not too bad considering what it was, but as with most cars or trucks after 100k they start wanting more and more money to repair odds and ends. Well worth the money to buy one of these in my opinion.

Fox bodied mustangs have been around since 1979 however they are still eye catchers and can be had for a reasonable amount of money. My mustang is a 1990 and is currently 17 years old. It still drives like new. This is my first convertible and I love it. The 5.0 V8 is very strong and the car handles very well for a convertible. Interior wind noise is a little high at highway speeds and thats to be expected being a convertible. Seating is comfortable however the seats don't go back far enough for tall people such as myself. Fit and finish is good but not outstanding. Overall this is a great affordable convertible that anyone can own and enjoy without going broke.

Performance: 20 yrs old, still does what it is supposed to do. Build Quality: Mine has seen better days. The poor thing was pretty neglected by some previous owner long ago, so it has rust issues. It does rattle quite a bit when you hit bumps. Appearance: Very pretty color, green and white is a nice looking combo. As old as it is it still gets alot of attention when I drive it. Cost of Ownership: It hasn't been too bad. If I really wanted to restore it, it would cost a fortune. It has had a few problems, broken brake line, bad tie rods, lost my smog pump. These were not costly repairs though. It drinks alot of gas but all of my cars do. I don't drive it alot anyway so gas is no big deal. Fun Factor: A+!! It is fun for certain. I feel like I'll always have to have a convertible after owning this car. I should probably sell the car, but so far can't bring myself to do it b/c it is fun to drive. My car is not for those who like refined cars. This thing is just nasty, but I actually like it that way. LOL
