My dad bought this Jimmy in 1992 when it was just three years old and our family has used it ever since. It has never stranded us other than one time when the fuel pump went out. But other than that it has been a great vehicle! In 2009 we got it repainted because the paint was completely ruined. It gets pretty good gas mileage for a 1989 (20 highway) (16-17 just driving around). It isn't the fastest thing in the world but it is built like a tank! Overall, if you want an easy to work on and easy to maintain truck that you want to be able to drive around without being worried about breaking down or leaving you stranded then you should consider buying one of these beasts!

it is fun on or off road or in the snow. the performance isn't the best with the R700 tranny. braking is touchy and cna be slugish. handling is extreamly touchy reason being is that the vechiles design is not ment for power steering. maintenance is fairly cheap. as far as the fuel goes 30 gallon tank and 15mpg on a good day.... you do the math. it is built like a tank and can not be killed easly

The truck has alittle rust from Washington. Been through the Mountains with no problems, handles extremely well. Easy and safe to handle even with the big tires. Gas milage isnt to bad on the highway, sucks in the city. Lots of power!
