Overview

The 1985 Honda Accord line was nearing the end of the second generation.
The new trim this year was the Accord SE-i—which meant engine induction by fuel injection. More impressive to many, though, was the cool bronze tinted glass on the SE Accord that give it quite a sophisticated, expensive look. That added to its already pretty decent features made it a car to keep—especially since it also got a 24-hp boost, bringing it up to an even 100 ponies.
Other models remained the same, with Honda, as usual, spending its energies on special editions, signifying a potentially awe-inspiring new generation to come.
The '85 Honda Accord won the Japanese Car of the Year award, perhaps rightly so, given that many of its owners today say they love the car because it "just keeps on going." In fact, several owners say they'll never buy another make of vehicle, since they view their Honda Accords as "extremely durable and dependable vehicles."

I loved this car as it was my first. I thought it was beautiful and fast but then again I was 16 and gas cost .95$ a gallon. 9$ a tank was needless to say a bargain for taking road trips. It also saved my life in a car crash.

When my father stopped driving due to health, he gave me his. At this was in 2004 and timing was right as I'd just left a job and had to give up my company car. At the time, the car had just over 65000 miles...since then I've racked up another 20000. Maintenance costs are low, because there are some things I can do (not so on newer cars...need close to a PhD it seems). Additionally, I've had few repairs. It is a great car, rides a little rough because the car is at a point of needing shocks. With gas prices high and only going higher, the Accord gives me a nice alternative to driving my 2003 Explorer.

I own a 1985 Honda Accord hatchback. no power steering. 5 speed manual. My mom bought it new in 1985. After she had her stroke in 1997 I started driving it. Has 185,000 miles on it. I would love to get a new honda with fuel injection and not alot of vacuum hoses. Nice thing about the car ive never had to make a car payment. But, Ive had to spend alot of money keeping it running good. But thats ok i dont' mind. I love hondas great cars. very reliable.
