(4 reviews)This was the first car I ever owned and boy did I go nuts with this thing. I originally bought it from a friend of the family for about $1100. I was so happy. I had been working at Dunkin Donuts for over a year now to save for a car. This is what I ended up with as soon as I turned 16. It didn't look like much when I first got it but it didn't matter to me. I probably did more modifications on this truck than I did on all my other cars combined. I put every penny I made into this truck. Sound systems, paint, seats, engine mods. Believe it or not I found a manifold that took the original throttle body to a four barrel carb. Then I put a Edelbrock 500 four barrel Carburetor with a new cam and lifter set. This was only the beginning. I think my buddy and I dropped the transmission more times than I care to count. It was a constant work in process but for a couple of young guys it was a dream. Everybody loved this truck too. Of course I was 16-18 and still going to high school so the fact that I had a car pretty much before anyone else was a big reason why everybody loved it. I still remember rolling around in that truck when it was looking just beautiful. All of a sudden I had friend that I never new I had. Of course that truck got me into a lot of trouble as well. More tickets than I can remember. Overall, I truely believe that this truck is the reason why I do what I do. It was a turning point in my life were I made decisions that truely affected my life. If I could go back and do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing.
This is a BIG truck. The body (blue) is in great condition, with some custom shielding on the bed. Dualie gets good mileage for its size and age, but it's still not great... only 12 mpg highway. Big block engine, 438 cc (not sure, but I think that's the biggest block that GMC made...) V8, very powerful. Difficult to maneuver at first, but it fits in the bank drive-thru, so it's all good. Really great for towing on big and small trailers. Does have a gooseneck hitch. However, the truck is currently out of commission and is in need of some transmission work.
Fast.get through anything, pull any thing AWSOME TRUCK!!!!!
IT could get some major air
