This truck does awesome in anything other than pavement, although it does well on paved roads too!

UGLY AS SIN! However, with the dana's factory on the front and back combined with the 345 V-8 it is unstoppable. Put that thing in 4L and let it snap your neck! FUN? Are you kidding? Nothing will stop you! most rugged 4x4 ever, and actually fuel consumption isnt terrible. HOWEVER, these things rust in place!

Ever since I can remember, my dad has either loved Scouts or owned one and shortly after the purchase of our first- a Scout 800 -my dad and some buddies created the Rocky Mountain Binders. It only seemed natural that my first car would be a Scout too. My dad searched far and wide for the right one- specifically a diesel due to rising gas prices, fuel efficiency and my need for speed. Finally, we found it in a small junkyard on the other side of town, destined to eventually be parted out for a Jeep (because my Dana 44s are sweet =]) or picked up as a cheap ride. We picked it up for $250 and with a little love, it's become a great little truck. It's great for driving around town and I love to take it off roading- we went several times this summer at the RMIHR. It even won and award at the RMIHR for being so awesome. We've been through some trials and tribulations. My dad didn't quite know that a pyrometer is a very handy tool in diesels and long story short, it sat for a year and a half while we rebuilt the engine. And right now it's been sitting for a couple weeks because the old thing is quite picky about diesel additives: too little and it gels up or too much and it refuses to start and I get to purge the fuel line. It's a pain in the butt, but I love it.
