Overview
After peak sales of 239,500 in 1965, the 1966 Chevrolet Impala saw a steep drop in sales in 1966: they fell more than 50% to just 119,314. Some blame the release of the Caprice and its new luxurious image. Others blame the restyling of the Impala, which took away some of its signature items, such as its six round taillights. Chevy introduced a new engine to the line: a 427-ci V8 rated at 425 horsepower with 460 lb-ft of torque. Unfortunately, this engine was so loud that it became known as the "rock-crusher" as the noise and vibration sent from it dominated the feel of the ride of the car.

Second owner, and had this car for over 35 years. Wins lots of trophies at the shows here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Has been choosen as the front cover of Impala News, USA. I truly look forward to a nice summer day when we cruise with family and friends. Chrome, chrome, chrome will make one stand back when admiring the goods under the hood. This car is a joy to ride and indeed a honour to own. The red body and white boot attract alot of attention, especially, July 1st, Canada Day. Nothing beats a 1966 Chevy Impala Convertible. Top This, licence plate says it all.

Best wedding present I ever got!... well except for the lovely woman that was in the passenger seat. (My wife :) This car was bought in new in 1965 by Niki's grandpa. It only has 65000 miles on it and drives like it! :)

My 1966 Impala convertible is also an SS model. The factory 327-275 hp engine has been rebuilt to 1966 Corvette engine specifications. The powerplant includes the addition of new 10.25:1 pistons etc, Comp cam, bee hive valve springs and roller tip rocker arms, a 625cfm Holley carb, headers and dual exhaust bring this beast to cruising speed nicely. It has a black bucket seat interior with only a tachometer added tastefully to the stock interior. It is a blast to drive and we get the thumbs up from many admirers at cruise nights or just cruisin to the local burger or icecream place. I luv it!

This car was a head turner. Sleek and sexy, Plenty of power, rides nice and smooth, and never let me down. With a 2 spped powerglyde transmission, and a 327 Turbo Jet, this car was hard to keep your foot out of it.
