However, the transaction nearly collapsed during the funding stage. My banker of 20 years raised serious red flags regarding the lack of security documentation provided for a wire transfer exceeding $20,000. Given the prevalence of wire fraud, providing only a "string of digits" is insufficient. We ultimately proceeded, but only after significant hesitation and independent vetting. Modernizing and securing the verification process for large transfers is a senior management responsibility, not a burden that should fall on sales staff or customers. I strongly recommend implementing more robust, formal bank validation protocols to build trust.
