Fisker was formed in 2007 by Henrik Fisker, an automotive designer for BMW then Aston Martin. The aim was to produce exciting vehicles that were environmentally conscious. Its first vehicle was stunning but lacked performance, and the Model S stole the show at this time. Fisker filed for bankruptcy in 2011, at which point it was purchased by a Chinese company and rebranded. Henrik launched Fisker Inc. in 2017 focusing on EVs. After the troubled launch of its first new vehicle, and it declared for bankruptcy in June 2024.
