MINI | Certified Pre-Owned Overview

Considering a certified pre-owned MINI? Shop great deals on CarGurus.

MINI may be owned by BMW, but its certified pre-owned vehicle (CPO) program is slightly different than that of its corporate parent. In order to become a CPO vehicle, the MINI must:

• Be from within the last 5 model years • Have fewer than 60,000 miles • Pass a “rigorous” inspection process

MINI says that its CPO vehicles will have all maintenance and repair needs taken care of before the vehicle is put up for sale, and any parts used will be 100 percent genuine from MINI.

Warranty

The MINI CPO Limited Warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship and is not considered a maintenance program or an extension of the 4-year, 50,000-mile factory warranty. The CPO warranty runs for up to 6 years and an unlimited number of miles from the vehicle’s original in-service date. Depending on when the vehicle was originally sold, the CPO warranty has exclusions that can include:

• Common wear items like brake pads and rotors • Batteries and fluids • Suspension components like ball joints and tie-rod ends • Bodywork, including squeaks and rattles • Tires and tire rotation • Interior fixtures, including electronics and lighting • Any non-original or aftermarket parts

Vehicles sold before April 2014 have different exclusions than those sold after that date. Warranty coverage is transferable to a subsequent owner, but there may be a $50 deductible for repairs provided under warranty.

Perks

Emergency Roadside Assistance
If your MINI breaks down, you are covered with roadside assistance for the duration of your vehicle’s warranty coverage. Services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Roadside assistance may include:

• Towing • Flat-tire service • Emergency fuel delivery • Battery jump-starts

Special Financing
MINI occasionally offers special rates and financing terms for its CPO vehicles. Specific details will vary by model and location, and MINI says to check with your dealer for more information.
