Dodge takes a slightly different approach to certified pre-owned vehicle (CPO) warranties and coverage. The company offers a very short 3-month comprehensive warranty but has several added-cost upgrade and extension plans available for CPO buyers.

Dodge vehicles must undergo a 125-point inspection before they can be sold as certified pre-owned. In addition to being inspected, vehicles must:

• Have under 75,000 miles • Be 5 model years old or newer • Have no frame damage • Have a clean title • Not have any modifications that alter safety, emissions, or basic vehicle operations

The company says that its CPO vehicles are required to have had all open recalls addressed prior to being put up for sale. Dodge also requires that its CPO vehicles come with a warranty manual, an owner’s manual, operational keys, a Carfax report, and a CPO warranty brochure.

Warranties

Limited Powertrain Warranty
Dodge CPO vehicles come with a seven-year/100,000-mile warranty that covers repair or replacement of most major powertrain components. Coverage is fully transferable to any future owners, but the warranty requires a $100 deductible for each repair visit.

Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty
Dodge offers three months or up to 3,000 miles of comprehensive coverage under its “Maximum Care Warranty.” If there is a remaining comprehensive warranty in place from the factory, coverage will begin once the original warranty expires. Otherwise, coverage begins on the day the vehicle is purchased. The program covers over 5,000 different vehicle components and requires a $100 deductible per service visit.

Beyond the standard powertrain and comprehensive warranties, buyers have the option to extend all or part of the benefits from either program. Dodge offers several upgrade options that have varying levels of coverage, ranging from basic powertrain components all the way up to the bumper-to-bumper Maximum Care warranty. These plans offer other perks, such as up to $1,000 trip interruption coverage, a car rental allowance of up to $35 per day, and roadside assistance. Just like the standard warranty, there’s a $100 deductible for services provided under the extended programs. The deductible also applies to roadside assistance.

Perks

Roadside Assistance
While the powertrain warranty is in effect, towing and roadside assistance are available with a $100 deductible charge per use. The service includes flat-tire changeover, up to 2 gallons of gas delivery, battery-jump assistance, lockout service, and towing service if the vehicle is inoperable.

Car Rental Allowance
If your vehicle requires overnight repairs due to the failure of covered components, Dodge will provide up to $35 per day to rent a vehicle. There’s a $175 limit, but that covers a rental for up to 5 days. Up to $35 is also available for taxi or transportation reimbursement.

SiriusXM Satellite Radio
Dodge CPO vehicles come with a complimentary 3-month trial subscription to SiriusXM with the All Access package. In addition to all the major satellite radio channels, the package provides access to content on mobile devices, computers, and tablets through the SiriusXM app.
