Cadillac | Certified Pre-Owned Overview

General Motors offers certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicles at most of its branded dealerships, including Cadillac, but the luxury brand’s program differs from GM’s others in a few ways.

Cadillac requires that its CPO vehicles:

• Be from within the last four model years • Have fewer than 50,000 miles • Have a clean Carfax report • Be free from structural damage • Have open recalls addressed

In addition, the company uses a 172-point checklist to inspect its CPO vehicles for mechanical, electronic, and safety issues. Cadillac then requires a road test and must provide any needed repairs prior to certifying the vehicle. The company does state that, while all open recalls are addressed at the time of inspection, it is possible that additional recall work may become necessary over the course of ownership.

Warranty

Cadillac’s CPO warranty is slightly different from other GM CPO vehicles, in that it extends the bumper-to-bumper warranty as a whole, instead of separating the powertrain portion. A Cadillac CPO vehicle is covered under the factory 4-year/50,000-mile warranty until it expires. Once the original coverage is no longer in effect, the CPO extension kicks in and carries coverage to a total of 6 years or 100,000 miles from the new vehicle purchase date, whichever comes first.

Roadside Assistance
Cadillac CPO owners can take advantage of 24-hour roadside assistance for the duration of the vehicle’s six-year/100,000-mile coverage period.

Courtesy Transportation
While your Cadillac is covered under the CPO warranty, the company will provide alternative transportation or will reimburse transportation expenses if the vehicle needs repairs.

Trial Subscriptions
Cadillac offers a 3-month trial subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio for all of its CPO vehicles.

My Cadillac Rewards
The company has a rewards program that includes the ability to earn points for buying vehicles, scheduling maintenance, buying OnStar, and other products. The points can then be redeemed for benefits like 4G LTE hotspot data blocks and other services.
