Acura offers certified pre-owned vehicles across three tiers: Precision Certified, Precision Certified EV, and Precision Used. The automaker authorizes its franchise dealers to inspect and certify used vehicles for sale under these guidelines for its certified preowned (CPO) program.
Acura vehicles must be from within the last six model years and have travelled less than 80,000 miles since its original in-service date to qualify for Precision Certified status. Precision Certified EV status applies to eligible electric vehicles from the 2024 model year with fewer than 80,000 miles. Precision Used status requires that vehicles be no more than ten years old with no mileage limit.
Precision Certified vehicles undergo a 182-point inspection, Precision Certified EVs undergo a 167-point inspection, and Precision Used vehicles undergo a 112-point inspection.
Warranties
Acura offers a powertrain warranty on every CPO vehicle it sells, as well as a non-powertrain warranty that has different levels of coverage depending on the vehicle's age and mileage. All covered repairs under these warranties carry a $0 deductible.
Precision Used vehicles include:
- A 6-month/10,000-mile powertrain warranty
- A 6-month/10,000-mile non-powertrain warranty
For Precision Used vehicles, the time limit for both warranties begins on the expiration of the vehicle's original new-vehicle limited warranty, or on the date of sale of the vehicle if the warranty has already expired.
Precision Certified vehicles include:
- A seven-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty
- A two-year/100,000-mile non-powertrain warranty
On Precision Certified vehicles, the powertrain warranty's time limit begins at the expiration of the new-vehicle limited warranty, or from the date of sale of the certified vehicle if the original warranty has already expired.
Precision Certified EV vehicles include:
- An eight-year/100,000-mile high voltage battery warranty
- A two-year/100,000-mile limited warranty
Perks
Roadside Assistance
Acura provides two years or 100,000 miles of roadside assistance on Precision Certified and Precision Certified EV vehicles. Precision Used vehicles are offered with one year or 12,000 miles of roadside assistance. Roadside assistance includes:
- Emergency towing
- Flat-tire changes
- Battery jump-starts
- Emergency fuel delivery
- Lockout assistance
For Precision Certified EV vehicles, roadside assistance includes emergency towing.
Acura also offers trip interruption expense reimbursement and a concierge service across all tiers of its CPO program.
Complimentary Service
Precision Certified vehicles receive the first scheduled maintenance free, including an oil change. Precision Certified EV vehicles receive four complimentary tire rotations. Precision Used vehicles receive one complimentary oil change within the first year of ownership.
SiriusXM Satellite Radio
All Acura CPO vehicles come with a complimentary three-month trial of SiriusXM from the date of delivery.
AcuraLink
Precision Certified vehicles with an authorized AcuraLink system are eligible for one or more three-month trial-subscription packages. Precision Certified EV vehicles receive a complimentary three-month AcuraLink trial from the date of delivery. AcuraLink is not available on Precision Used vehicles.
Exchange Policy
Acura offers a seven-day exchange policy on Precision Certified, Precision Certified EV, and Precision Used vehicles. This means shoppers can exchange their certified Acura within seven days for another vehicle in the dealership's inventory. However, the original vehicle must be in the same condition as it was when purchased, and it cannot have travelled more than 300 miles.
