The Toyota Land Cruiser is one of the most iconic and longest-running off-road SUVs on sale today, but it didn’t reach the 2026 model year without significant changes along the way. The model we see today is based on the Land Cruiser Prado, a slightly smaller and less-expensive variant in the catalog, though the Lexus LX is still based on the full-fat Land Cruiser. Despite its slightly smaller stature and price tag, the 2026 Land Cruiser remains one of the more off-road-capable vehicles on sale.

What’s New for the 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser
Toyota updated the Land Cruiser for 2026 with new color options, improved advanced driver-assistance technologies, and revised feature offerings. The SUV rolls into the new model year with no mechanical changes.
Design
The new Land Cruiser features boxy styling and an upright shape. The 1958 model has round headlights, while the standard Land Cruiser features rectangular light units. All models feature old-school Toyota badging, and some variants are available with two-tone paint options.
Powertrain
Toyota only offers one powertrain for the 2026 Land Cruiser. It’s a hybrid unit that pairs a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor for a combined 326 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive (4WD) are standard. That setup provides decent acceleration, but the real benefit comes off-road, where the electric motor provides excellent torque at low RPM, giving the SUV a lively feel and better ability to tackle hardcore terrain.

Interior
The Land Cruiser seats five people across two rows, with standard cloth upholstery and heated front seats. More expensive configurations get synthetic or genuine leather upholstery, and ventilated front seats are available. While it lacks a third row, the Land Cruiser offers spacious accommodations for five people, and cargo space is generous without the extra seat in the way. It measures 37.5 cubic feet behind the second-row seats, making the Toyota one of the most spacious in its class.
Technology
Toyota equips an 8-inch touchscreen and a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM radio, six USB ports, and more. Higher trims get a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12-inch digital gauge cluster. Toyota’s infotainment system is much improved over earlier iterations', offering a more responsive interface and easier navigation while driving.
Safety
The 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser hasn’t received crash-test results from either major reporting agency yet, but it comes nicely equipped in all trims. Standard features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a driving-assistance system, pedestrian and cyclist detection, parking sensors, traffic-sign recognition, vehicle-exit warning, and more. A head-up display, front cross-traffic alert, and a surround-view camera system are available.

Pricing and Release Date
As of the time of this writing, pricing for the 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser starts at $58,695, which includes a $1,495 destination charge. The top Land Cruiser model costs $64,770, and all models are available now.
