The fifth-generation Toyota Supra arrived more than 15 years after its predecessor retired. It’s now known as the GR Supra, using Toyota’s performance division designation, which stands for Gazoo Racing. The Toyota GR Supra competes with other stylish sports cars such as the Nissan Z, the BMW Z4, and the Ford Mustang.

What’s New for the 2026 Toyota GR Supra
This iteration of the iconic Japanese sports car was introduced for the 2020 model year and hasn't seen many updates aside from the addition of a manual transmission, a few performance tweaks, and some special editions. It gets all three for 2026 with the new GR Supra MkV Final Edition, which offers enhanced engines, braking, and suspension. The 3.0 and 3.0 Premium trims carry over from 2025.
Design
Only four colors are available for the 2026 GR Supra: Nocturnal (black), Renaissance Red 2.0, Stratosphere (blue), and Absolute Zero (white). It comes standard with matte black mirrors and LED headlights and taillights. The Final Edition gets matte black 19-inch wheels but switches to a gloss carbon fiber treatment for the mirrors and the ducktail spoiler with improved aerodynamics. An optional GT4 style pack available on the MkV Final Edition offers a choice of two colors—Burnout and Undercover—that are not available on other GR Supras. This options package also adds a side graphic, red mirrors, and a matte finish to the carbon fiber accents.
Powertrain
Under the hood of the 2026 Supra is a turbocharged inline six-cylinder making 382 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque. Every trim is available with the buyer’s choice of a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission, which translate to a 0-60-mph time of 4.2 or 3.9 seconds respectively. True to its sports car nature, the Supra is rear-wheel-drive (RWD) only and comes standard with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. It features an adaptive variable suspension, Brembo brakes, and an electronically controlled rear differential.
The Final Edition delivers an even more focused driving experience, thanks to a range of upgrades and special tuning. The electronic locking differential gets new control maps to improve traction and reduce understeer. The adaptive shocks were also updated, along with stiffer bushings, a stiffer front sway bar, and stronger underbody bracing to improve handling. The brakes also got an upgrade, with larger front and rear discs to match the many chassis improvements.

Interior
The GR Supra is a driver’s car, not a people-carrier, and its cockpit seats just two. In the base Supra 3.0, the 14-way power-adjustable sport seats are upholstered in Black combination leather and alcantara. The 3.0 Premium gets heated leather-trimmed seats sans alcantara; this upholstery can be Black or Hazelnut. The MkV Final Edition gets leather-trimmed Alcantara seats with GR logo, red contrast stitching, and red seatbelts. All 2026 GR Supras feature carbon-fiber interior trim and a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel.
Technology
All 2026 Supras get an 8.8-inch infotainment screen with a rotary controller that Toyota calls Supra Command (it's also a touchscreen, though). Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is not standard, but is available on the base trim as part of the Safety & Technology package and included on the Premium. Wireless charging is included with the 3.0 Premium or the Final Edition and on any manual 2026 Supra, including the base trim. A 10-speaker audio system is standard, but the 3.0 Premium gets a 12-speaker JBL Premium Audio System.
Safety
Standard safety features on the 2026 GR Supra include lane-departure warning and a pre-collision assist system with pedestrian detection. Either the Safety & Technology Package on the 3.0 trim or the Driver’s Assist Package on the 3.0 Premium will add blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking sensors with an emergency braking function. These packages also include adaptive cruise control for Supras equipped with the automatic transmission (this option is not available with the manual). A head-up display is standard at the 3.0 Premium trim level.
The Toyota Supra has not been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), which is not unusual for cars sold in low quantities.

Pricing and Release Date
As of this writing, the base MSRP for the 2026 Toyota GR Supra 3.0 started at $56,900 with either the automatic or the manual transmission. The 3.0 Premium started at $60,050 and the MkV Final Edition at $67,950. Note that all prices are subject to a $1,135 destination fee. Every new GR Supra, like every new Toyota GR model, comes with a one-year National Auto Sport Association membership which gives owners discounted admission to the organization’s events and one free high-performance driving event.
