What’s New for the 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross
Toyota gave the Corolla Cross a mid-cycle refresh for the 2026 model year, which includes new front fascia designs, updated grilles, and a new center console with a larger available touchscreen. The SUV also gained new available colors for the model year, including a bright Cavalry Blue color similar to the hue used on Toyota’s GR-branded vehicles.
Design
The new Corolla Cross features a revised front end with unique grille designs, depending on the trim. Toyota offers a two-tone paint option for some trims, and a range of wheel choices are available. While it’s similar to the Corolla sedan in styling, the Cross’ styling updates give it a more unique look, especially in the front, where the new fascia and grilles set it apart.
Powertrain
While it received a styling update, the Corolla Cross’ powertrain remained unchanged. It includes a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 169 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with a continuously variable transmission and either front- or all-wheel drive. Corolla Cross models with AWD have Toyota’s Dynamic Torque Control system, which can send up to 50 percent of the available power to the rear wheels when needed, and when traction is not needed, the system disconnects the rear axle for better fuel economy, which reaches 32 mpg combined with front-wheel drive and 30 mpg combined with all-wheel drive.

Interior
The refreshed interior seats five people on standard cloth upholstery, while higher trims offer synthetic leather and heated front seats. Other available features include a power-adjustable driver’s seat and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Cargo space is below average for the class, at 19.6 cubic feet with the back seats upright and 46.9 with them folded flat. All-wheel drive cuts into those numbers a bit, reducing them to 17.1 and 44 cubic feet, respectively.
Technology
Toyota equips an 8-inch touchscreen and a 4.2-inch gauge cluster information display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard, along with SiriusXM, voice controls, Bluetooth, and more. Higher trims add a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, a JBL stereo, dual-zone automatic climate controls, and wireless phone charging.
Safety
The 2026 Corolla Cross hasn’t received crash-testing results from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), but it comes well-equipped with driver-assistance technologies. They include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, rear-seat alert, lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and more. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, reverse automatic braking, and safe-exit assist are available.

Pricing and Release Date
As of the time of this writing, Toyota hasn’t released pricing for the 2026 Corolla Cross, but expect a slight bump over 2025’s prices. They started at $24,135 for the base L trim and ranged to $28,630 for the top XLE configuration.
