Full-size three-row SUVs have undergone a sort of renaissance in recent years, with automakers adding sporty styling, off-road variants, and other upgrades to make them more interesting. The Nissan Armada recently received a substantive update, bringing a new six-cylinder engine and revised styling, but the changes for 2026 may be more exciting.

What’s New for the 2026 Nissan Armada

Nissan introduced a new NISMO trim level for the Armada in 2026, which has unique bumpers, fender flares, a rear spoiler, and exclusive interior finishes, such as quilted leather upholstery with red accent stitching.

Design

The Armada retained its basic shape through the most recent redesign, but it’s more modern and cohesively styled than it was before. Nissan smoothed the front-end shape, giving the front lighting elements a more integrated look, and a range of wheel designs are available, depending on the trim. The new NISMO model adds LED front fog lights and 22-inch wheels.

Powertrain

Unlike some appearance packages, the Armada NISMO actually comes with performance upgrades. The twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 received a 35-horsepower bump, reaching 360 horsepower on premium fuel. Non-NISMO Armada models have 425 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. All SUVs come with a nine-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive (RWD), but four-wheel drive (4WD) is available for all trims. Adaptive air suspension is available, and the SUV can tow up to 8,500 pounds when properly equipped. The new NISMO trim adds a rear spoiler and red painted brake calipers.

Interior

The Armada seats seven or eight people on standard synthetic leather. A second-row bench seat is standard for lower trims, affording eight-passenger seating, but the available second-row captain’s chairs cut seating capacity to seven. Available features include premium synthetic or genuine leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, and massaging front seats. The Armada offers generous space across the first two rows, with plenty of head and legroom for adults. The third-row seat isn’t as accommodating, but it’s spacious enough for adults to ride comfortably on shorter trips. Cargo space is solid, at 20.4 cubic feet behind the third-row seats and up to 97.1 with the second and third rows folded flat.

Technology

Nissan equips a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. Other standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, voice commands, SiriusXM radio, HD radio, six speakers, and more. Available tech includes a 14.3-inch touchscreen, 14.3-inch gauge cluster, Amazon Alexa, navigation, additional USB ports, and a Klipsch premium audio system.

Safety

The 2026 Armada hasn’t been crash-tested yet, but it should perform similarly to the 2025 model, which earned a 2025 Top Safety Pick + from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Standard driver-assist features include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, traffic sign recognition, front and rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams, and driver-attention monitoring. ProPilot Assist semi-automated driving features, a rearview camera mirror, and a head-up display are available.

Pricing and Release Date

The 2026 Nissan Armada NISMO is expected to go on sale in the fall of 2025. As of the time of this writing, Nissan hasn’t priced the 2026 Armada, but we expect a small increase over 2025’s pricing. The 2025 Armada started at $59,530, which included a stout $2,010 destination fee. The top Platinum Reserve trim started at $79,000 before options.
