What’s New for the 2025 Subaru WRX
New for the 2025 model year is the tS trim, which is a performance-focused model tuned by STI. It features electronically controlled dampers and high-performance Brembo brakes with gold calipers.
Design
The WRX boasts a menacing design with a hexagonal grille and large hood scoop. The tS trim features 19-inch satin gray wheels and exclusive badging. It also features distinctive taillights.
Powertrain
The 2025 Subaru WRX is powered by a 2.4-liter turbocharged Boxer four-cylinder engine. It makes 271 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed to either a six-speed manual transmission or an optional performance-tuned continuously variable transmission (CVT). Both route power to Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD). The six-speed manual achieves an estimated 19 mpg city, 26 highway, and 22 combined. The CVT delivers slightly better fuel efficiency, at 19 mpg city, 25 highway, and 21 combined.

Interior
The 2025 Subaru WRX comes standard with cloth upholstery and manually adjustable front seats. Higher trims, like the Limited and tS, add features such as Recaro seats with blue accents and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. All models include dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, and push-button start. Every 2025 WRX offers 12.5 cubic feet of trunk space.
Technology
The WRX comes equipped with an 11.6-inch tablet-like touchscreen infotainment system. It comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as Bluetooth, SiriusXM, and HD Radio. The tS trim adds a full 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster with map display and customizable driver information.
Safety
The WRX comes standard with Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist technology. This includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane-departure warning. The WRX also features Active Torque Vectoring for improved cornering.

Pricing and Release Date
At the time of this writing, the 2025 Subaru WRX has a base price of $35,750 for the Premium trim, with the range-topping WRX tS priced at $45,705. The 2025 Subaru WRX is expected in dealers in early 2025.
