While it has grown over the years, climbing from one segment to another, the Sentra remains Nissan’s smallest and most affordable sedan, and it’s one of the most value-forward vehicles on sale today.

What’s New for the 2025 Nissan Sentra
The Sentra received minor updates for 2025, including additional complimentary oil changes for up to two years and a few new tech features, like a Wi-Fi hotspot. Nissan gave the car a more significant revision in 2024, with refreshed styling, new wheel designs, a fuel-saving continuously variable transmission (CVT), and more.
Design
The Sentra borrows some of the Altima’s styling elements, including the sloped roof and large C-pillar. It also features Nissan’s signature “V” grille, though it’s less exaggerated than on other Nissan models. Each of the trim levels has different wheel designs, with the base S configuration getting 16-inch steel wheels with wheel covers and the other two receiving 16- or 18-inch alloy wheels.
Powertrain
Every 2025 Sentra comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, making 149 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive (FWD). That combination doesn’t deliver the performance promised by the Sentra’s sporty look, but it’s reasonably fuel-efficient. While there’s enough power for commuting and highway cruising, reaching highway speeds takes time.

Interior
Nissan equips cloth upholstery in the S and SV trims, with the latter getting premium cloth and optional quilted leather. The top SR model has “sport cloth” and can be upgraded to synthetic leather. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are available. The Sentra offers a good amount of room for front passengers, but people in the back seat will find a much less accommodating space with limited leg- and headroom.
Technology
A 7-inch touchscreen comes standard for 2025, bringing Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, and four speakers. Nissan offers an 8-inch display and additional features in higher trims, including SiriusXM radio, a Bose stereo, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and more.
Safety
The 2025 Sentra didn’t earn a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), but it performed well in crash testing. Standard safety tech includes blind-spot monitoring with rear-cross traffic alert, forward collision warning, forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, driver-attention warning, and more. That’s a fairly generous number of features at the Sentra’s price point, and higher trims add adaptive cruise control and a 360-degree camera system.

Pricing and Release Date
As of the time of this writing, the 2025 Nissan Sentra S starts at $22,730, including a $1,140 destination fee. The mid-range SV trim costs $23,430, and the top SR trim starts at $25,730 after destination.
