What’s New for the 2025 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter

The eSprinter was introduced for the 2024 model year as an all-new electric-powered variant of the Sprinter van. The eSprinter enters its second year in production with a new entry-level battery pack and with an a newly available body style which is shorter both in length and height. Some advanced safety features get expanded capabilities.

Design

The eSprinter is available in two body styles: one with a 170-inch wheelbase and a high roofline and the new 144-inch wheelbase model with a regular roof height. The eSprinter features an available electric sliding door and deploying step. Aside from its EV powertrain, the eSprinter looks very similar to its conventionally powered counterpart.

Powertrain

The new entry-level battery on the eSprinter has an 81-kWh capacity. The upgraded battery, available only on the long-wheelbase model, has a 113-kWh capacity. Both batteries can be selected with either a 134-horsepower motor or an upgraded 201-horsepower motor. Regardless of motor selected, the power is routed to the rear wheels.

The base battery has a range of up to 173 miles and it can be recharged up to 80% in 32 minutes with DC fast charging. The upgraded battery has a range of 252 miles and can be recharged up to 80% capacity in 42 minutes. The eSprinter’s top speed is limited to 75 mph. When properly equipped, the eSprinter can tow up to 5,000 pounds and has a payload capacity of up to 3,516 pounds.

Interior

The larger eSprinter has a max cargo space of 488 cubic feet. The short-wheelbase version has a max cargo space of 319 cubic feet. Since the eSprinter is offered exclusively as a cargo van, it is offered with what Mercedes calls eXpert Upfitter Solutions. This includes available workbenches, shelving systems, and even mobile workshops. Available features also include air conditioning and heated front seats that swivel toward the rest of the cabin.

Technology

The eSprinter comes with the MBUX system with advanced voice control. It’s also available with a 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and cloud-based connected features, such as a navigation system that plans routes optimized for electric range and charging stations. Available fleet management tools allow companies and contractors to monitor their drivers.

Safety

Standard driver-assistance features for the 2025 eSprinter include forward-collision warning, driver-attention monitoring, and blind-spot monitoring. It also comes equipped with crosswind assist, which is helpful for keeping the tall van stable in high winds. Available safety tech includes traffic-sign recognition, a digital rearview mirror, a 360-degree parking camera system, and adaptive cruise control.

At the time of this writing, the 2025 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter starts at $61,250 for the short-wheelbase/low-roof model. The larger van with the smaller battery starts at $67,960.
