In 2022, Jeep expanded its already beefy SUV lineup with the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. The two full-size family haulers offer three rows of seating, loads of tech and comfort features, and the Jeep brand’s legendary off-road capability. The Wagoneer offers comparable space to its Grand counterpart, but Jeep gives the latter model a more upscale interior and features.

What’s New for the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer
The Wagoneer hasn’t been on sale long enough to have received a substantive update or generational overhaul, but Jeep has done quite a bit to keep it current over the last four model years. Changes for 2025 are minimal and include a handful of new standard features and more available options packages.
Design
The Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer share much of their styling and design language with the Grand Cherokee. That means clean styling, a boxy, upright shape, and a range of wheel and paint choices. Jeep also offers two-tone paints, and top trims offer tasteful chrome exterior trim. Some configurations come with appearance packages, such as the Carbide trim, which offers black exterior accents and wheels.
Powertrain
Jeep discontinued the Wagoneer’s V8 engine option in 2024, but the six-cylinder engine that replaces it does not disappoint. It’s a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that makes a stout 420 horsepower and 468 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear or all four wheels. The turbocharged mill provides great torque at low rpm, giving the Wagoneer a surprising level of off-road capability. That said, it’s a large SUV, so smaller trails and heavier terrain are mostly off-limits. The six-cylinder Hurricane engine also affords strong towing capability, with the Wagoneer offering up to 10,000 pounds of towing when properly equipped.
Interior
The Grand Wagoneer’s selling point is that its interior is nicer than the regular Wagoneer, but most people will be more than happy with the regular model’s interior finishes and design. It comes standard with leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. Top trims add Nappa leather and heated second-row seats.
Technology
Jeep equips a 10.1-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster. The automaker’s Uconnect 5 infotainment system offers a dazzling number of standard features, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, voice commands, Amazon Alexa, multiple USB ports, three-zone automatic climate controls, and SiriusXM radio. Uconnect is also one of the easier-to-use infotainment systems and is less distracting while driving. Available tech includes a 19-speaker McIntosh stereo, a 10.25-inch front passenger-side touchscreen display, wireless phone charging, and a rear-seat entertainment system with dual 10.1-inch touchscreens.
Safety
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2025 Wagoneer decent crash-test scores, but it missed a Top Safety Pick award for the calendar year. Despite that, it offers a generous number of standard and available driver-assistance features, including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward-collision warnings, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, and hill-start assist. Higher trims add automatic wipers, automatic high beams, traffic-sign recognition, and a head-up display.
Pricing and Release Date
As of the time of this writing, the base Jeep Wagoneer costs $62,040, which includes a $2,095 destination charge, one of the more expensive fees on the market. At the top of the lineup, the Series III costs $76,040.
