What’s New for the 2025 Honda CR-V
The 2025 CR-V received no notable changes, but the SUV is expected to get a substantial update for the 2026 model year. It will likely receive light styling updates, new tech and safety features, and more.
Design
As many automakers do, Honda borrowed styling elements from its larger, more expensive SUVs for the compact CR-V. It features an upright front fascia with a large grille and slim headlights, similar to the look of the new Pilot and Passport SUVs. It doesn’t have shouty graphics or paint colors but instead features a subtle, modern look that blends in with everyday traffic.
Powertrain
The 2025 CR-V comes with one powertrain option. It includes a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet of torque. The engine pairs with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and either front- or all-wheel drive (FWD or AWD). That combination doesn’t deliver any thrills, but it’s a competent powertrain with plenty of power for daily driving and commuting, and Honda’s CVT is one of the more refined units on the market.
Interior
The 2025 CR-V seats five people on standard cloth upholstery. Leather is available, along with heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Unlike some in its class, the CR-V offers a usable back seat with decent space for adults and kids in large car seats. Cargo space is also solid, with 39.3 cubic feet of space behind the back seats and up to 76.5 cubic feet with the rear bench folded flat.
Technology
Honda equips the 2025 CR-V with a 7-inch digital gauge cluster and a 7-inch touchscreen as standard. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard, along with four speakers, Bluetooth, and automatic climate control. Higher trims get a 9-inch display with wireless smartphone mirroring and add HD radio, SiriusXM radio, and one of two available stereo upgrades. Honda’s infotainment system is extremely easy to use, but it lacks the flashier graphics of some competing interfaces.
Safety
The 2025 Honda CR-V earned a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and five stars overall from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, rear-seat alert, automatic high beams, and traffic-sign recognition. Available tech includes blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, reverse-collision warning, and parking sensors.
Pricing and Release Date
As of the time of this writing, the 2025 Honda CR-V starts at $32,370, which includes a $1,450 destination fee. The top gas model is the EX-L, which starts at $35,400. Hybrids extend higher in price, but Honda doesn’t require added-cost options and packages to get the “good stuff.”
