What’s New for the 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid
The 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid is essentially a carryover model and part of the sixth generation CR-V that was redesigned in 2023. At that time, it got slightly larger exterior and interior dimensions, bolder exterior design, and an improved infotainment system.
Design
As a part of the 2023 redesign, the CR-V Hybrid got tougher, more truck-like styling. It’s about 2.5 inches longer and a half inch wider than the previous generation, and has a more muscular stance. The CR-V Hybrid offers an HPD design package, including a tailgate spoiler, HPD emblems and decals, lower door trim accents, and fender flares. HPD bronze alloy wheels are available as a separate accessory. Standard wheels are 18-inches, with 19-inch wheels on the top Touring trim.
Powertrain
The 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid has a two-motor hybrid system, which uses one motor to accelerate and a second to start the engine. This system is paired with a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine, and combined output is 204 horsepower, running through an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission with either front- or all-wheel drive. The city/highway/combined fuel economy is 43/36/40 mpg for the FWD model, and 40/34/37 mpg for the AWD model. Max towing capacity for the hybrid is 1,000 pounds.
Interior
The interior of the 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid bears a strong family resemblance to the Civic and the HR-V, with a honeycomb grille surrounding the air vents and spanning the dash. It seats five passengers and comes standard with cloth seats, heated front seats, dual automatic climate controls, a 60/40 split fold-down rear seat, dual automatic climate controls, and a panoramic moonroof. Available features include leather seats, a heated steering wheel, a power passenger seat, and memory driver’s seat. The hybrid gets between 34.7 and 36.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row, and it has a max cargo volume of 76.5 cubic feet behind the first row.
Technology
The 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid comes with a base seven-inch infotainment screen and a seven-inch digital gauge cluster. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, but it only gets wireless compatibility with the superior nine-inch infotainment system on the Sport L and Sport Touring trims. The base Sport trim is also equipped with a six-speaker audio system. Available features include a power hands-free tailgate, a wireless phone charger, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, SiriusXM radio, and a Bose premium audio.
Safety
Honda puts a big emphasis on safety, so it should come as no surprise that the 2025 CR-V Hybrid comes with a plethora of standard features, including lane keep assist, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high beams. Available features include low-speed braking control and front and rear parking sensors. Though the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety hasn’t specifically tested the hybrid, the gasoline model is a 2024 Top Safety Pick, with mostly good crash-test ratings. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gives the CR-V Hybrid an overall five-Star safety rating.
