Audi sells a range of SUVs, from the subcompact Q3 to the three-row Q7 and beefy Q8. The Q5 sits right in the middle, offering five seats, sporty handling and performance, a nice interior, and upscale tech. Audi pushes the needle on the model with the more powerful SQ5 variant, which gets a punch turbocharged V6 over the standard model’s turbo-four. The Sportback model is identical to the regular SUV, but it gets a more stylish rear end with a sloped roof.

What’s New for the 2025 Audi SQ5 Sportback
Audi gave the SQ5 more standard features for 2025, including new Homelink garage door buttons on the rearview mirror, red brake calipers, and an upgraded key. The SUV also gained two new available packages, including the Black Optic Plus Package and the Magnesium Gray Package.
Design
The SQ5 bears some resemblance to Audi’s sedans, especially the A4 and A5, but it sports a higher-riding SUV body with sculpted sides and attractive lines. Audi offers a range of wheel choices and sizes, depending on the trim and package selection, and some models feature blacked-out exterior trim and wheels.
Powertrain
The 2025 SQ5 comes standard with a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6, making 349 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Audi quotes a 4.7-second 0-60 mph time, and buyers can opt for a performance differential that improves cornering speed and handling. Some people may find the suspension a bit rough, however, as it’s tuned heavily for performance. That said, the SQ5 rides more smoothly than many go-fast SUVs in its class.

Interior
The SQ5 seats five people on two rows with standard leather upholstery. Heated front seats are also standard, and Audi offers ventilated front seats with memory settings. Upgraded front-seat lumbar support, heated rear seats, and rear sunshades are available. There’s a good amount of space for adults in both rows, but three across in the back seat may feel the pinch. On the upside, the cabin is nicer than expected, offering upscale materials and a pleasing design.
Technology
A 10.1-inch touchscreen and 7-inch digital gauge cluster come standard, along with wired Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay. Audi offers an upgraded digital cluster with its Virtual Cockpit system, which has configurable views of maps, audio information, vehicle performance, and more. A Bang and Olufsen stereo and navigation are available, but all SQ5 configurations offer a relatively user-friendly tech experience with plenty of great features and an attractively designed interface.
