Audi makes a range of performance vehicles, including SUVs and even station wagons. Its S lineup is a sort of middle ground between standard vehicles and the hottest RS variants, which are available for some models. The SQ5 is an excellent example, bringing the practicality of a compact luxury SUV with strong acceleration and performance.

What’s New for the 2025 Audi SQ5
The SQ5 gained additional standard features for 2025, such as a Homelink garage door system built into the rearview mirror, red brake calipers, and a premium key. Audi also offers two new packages for the 2025 model year: the Black Optic Plus Package and Magnesium Gray package.
Design
While it shares some styling elements with Audi’s cars, mostly the A4 and A5, the SQ5 rides higher and has a more traditional SUV body style compared to its counterpart, the SQ5 Sportback. It’s available with a range of wheel sizes and designs, including black wheels for some packages.
Powertrain
Audi only offers one powertrain for the 2025 SQ5, but it’s a good one. The SUV gets a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine and an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission making a combined 349 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD) is standard, and the SUV is capable of a 4.7-second zero-60-mph time before reaching a limited top speed of 155 mph. Some have complained about Audi’s decision to use a standard torque converter automatic transmission rather than a dual clutch, which is faster to shift and more responsive.

Interior
The SQ5 offers five seats across two rows. Leather upholstery comes standard, along with heated front seats. Audi offers ventilated front seats and heated rear outboard seats, and buyers can upgrade the front buckets with additional lumbar support. The cabin is nicer than expected, with high-quality materials throughout and a visually pleasing design. Despite that, cargo space is just average, at 25.9 cubic feet behind the second-row seats and up to 54.1 cubic feet with the back row folded flat.
Technology
Audi equips a 10.1-inch touchscreen and a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, but higher trims get the excellent Virtual Cockpit system. The upgrade brings maps, audio information, vehicle performance displays, and more to the gauge cluster, making it easy to quickly view vehicle data without digging around in a menu. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto are standard, along with Bluetooth, multiple USB ports, and more.
Safety
The 2025 SQ5 is too new to have been crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), but it earned five out of five stars overall from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Standard driver-assist tech includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control.

Pricing and Release Date
As of the time of this writing, the 2025 Audi SQ5 starts at $58,400 for the base Premium trim. The Premium Plus model starts at $63,300 and the top Prestige trim at $66,500. All models come with a $1,295 destination charge.
