Lexus offers one of the more expansive SUV lineups among premium automakers. The UX Hybrid is an upscale entry point to that line, bringing solid fuel economy and a long list of standard features. It’s available in a broad range of configurations, and can be had with front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). That said, it’s short on interior space and offers below-average cargo space for its segment.

What’s New for the 2024 Lexus UX Hybrid
The Lexus UX Hybrid received no substantive changes for the 2024 model year.
Design
There’s aggressive styling, and then there’s the UX Hybrid. Its sharp lines, large grille, and sculpted bodywork telegraph a level of performance the SUV can’t deliver, but the design certainly helps the UX stand out. It carries Lexus’s large "spindle grille," though it’s not as overdone here as on other SUVs in the automaker’s catalog. That said, the UX’s beefy wheel arches and creased side bodywork are a bit much and may be too loud for some buyers.
Powertrain
Lexus equips a single powertrain for all 2024 UX Hybrid models. It’s a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine which combines with two electric motors to make 181 total horsepower. The electric motors make the Lexus feel lively around town, but the UX takes a while to reach highway speeds, and passing once there requires patience. The standard continuously variable transmission (CVT) is more refined than the units seen in other vehicles, however, and the UX offers a good ride quality over most road surfaces.

Interior
The five-seat Lexus UX offers standard synthetic leather and power-adjustable front seats. More expensive configurations add heating and ventilation for the front seats, and a heated steering wheel is available as well. While there’s decent room in the front, adults will find the rear accommodations cramped, and cargo space is lacking, at just 17.1 cubic feet behind the back seats.
Technology
The 2024 UX comes standard with a 7-inch digital gauge cluster and an 8-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard, along with Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, voice commands, dual-zone climate control, and more. Lexus offers a larger 8-inch gauge cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen in more expensive configurations.
Safety
Standard driver aids include lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, pedestrian and cyclist detection, traffic-sign recognition, and more. Higher trims add a head-up display, front and rear parking sensors, and automatic wipers.
The 2024 UX line earned a Top Safety Pick designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), a solid performance but less impressive than the scores it earned in 2023, when it received a Top Safety Pick+ award.

Pricing and Release Date
As of this writing, the 2024 Lexus UX300h starts at $37,490, and adding all-wheel drive pushes the price to $39,060. Moving up to the F Sport Design trim brings the price to $41,440, and the top F Sport Handling AWD trim costs $47,525.
