What’s New for the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer
For the 2024 model year, a six-cylinder engine replaces the previous V8. But don’t let the lack of two cylinders get you down, as this new “Hurricane” engine makes big power for impressive towing.
Design
The Wagoneer has a tall, boxy design, highlighted by the upright seven-slot grille. The Wagoneer is available in four trims: Series I, Series II, Series III, and the Carbide Edition. The Series I and Series II trim levels feature 18-inch alloy wheels. Stepping up to the Series III adds 20-inch alloy wheels. The Carbide features unique dark exterior elements and black wheels.
Powertrain
While V8 power was standard in previous years, the big engine has been dropped in favor of a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six-cylinder engine that makes 420 horsepower and 468 pound-feet of torque.
Power is routed through an eight-speed automatic transmission to rear-wheel drive (RWD) or one of three available four-wheel drive (4WD) systems. Quadra-Trac I is full-time 4WD with a single-speed transfer case. Quadra-Trac II adds a two-speed transfer case with low range, and Quadra-Drive II has an electronically controlled limited-slip differential for enhanced traction.
When equipped with the Heavy-Duty Trailer-Tow package, the Wagoneer can tow up to 10,000 pounds. EPA fuel economy ratings are 17 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined with RWD and 16 mpg city, 23 mpg highway, and 19 combined with 4WD.
Interior
The Wagoneer comes well-equipped and includes standard features such as heated and ventilated power-adjustable front seats, leather upholstery, push-button start, and a wall-style power outlet. Available interior features include upgraded Nappa leather upholstery, heated second-row seats, wireless device charging, and ambient interior lighting.
The Wagoneer comes standard with power-folding second- and third-row seats, giving access to a maximum 116.7 cubic feet of cargo space with both rows folded. You get 70.8 cubic feet of cargo space with the second-row seats in use and 27.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, accessed via a standard power liftgate.
Technology
The standard 10.25-inch touchscreen houses an intuitive infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The 2024 Wagoneer also offers a 19-speaker McIntosh premium sound system and an additional touchscreen for the front passenger integrated into the dash.
Safety
Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and front and rear parking sensors. The 2024 Wagonner is also available with features like rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams, a head-up display, and stop-and-go adaptive cruise control.
